Three young musicians from the West Coast Youth Orchestra (WCYO) have taken the next step in their musical journeys by enrolling at the West Coast Music Academy satellite campus of Stellenbosch University.

Zanele Constant (violin), Chenecke Williams (violin) and Lu-Anne Adams (cello) are currently enrolled for the Introduction to Music Literacy Certificate course.

The three students have been part of the WCYO Outreach and Development Programme for more than ten years, progressing from young beginners to confident musicians.

Alongside their studies, Zanele, Chenecke and Lu-Anne serve as student teachers in the WCYO outreach programme at Middelpos Primary School in Saldanha. They assist with music lessons and support younger learners participating in the programme.

The WCYO is appealing to the community, businesses and individuals to support the students with costs such as transport, laptops, learning resources or other financial needs.
