SACS delivered an exceptional performance at this year’s UCT Mathematics Competition, securing five Gold Awards and placing fifth overall in the school rankings.
Congratulations to Luke Mutch and Jamie Archibald (3rd pair, Grade 8), Vheer Sookhayi (10th, Grade 9), Adam Rassou (1st, Grade 10), Samuel Johnston (9th, Grade 12), and Noah Rassou (4th, Grade 12). Special recognition goes to Noah, who achieved an extraordinary fifth consecutive Gold Award since Grade 8.
The Rassou brothers continue to shine internationally: Noah represented South Africa at the International Mathematics Olympiad in China, while Adam competed in Mongolia’s International Mathematics Competition before returning to claim his UCT first-place award.
On Thursday, Adam and Noah joined the nation’s top 100 mathematicians in the South African Mathematics Olympiad final round, alongside fellow SACS students Vheer Sookhayi, Abraham Mkuzi, Benjamin Duk, Reece Englebrecht, and Rhys Macdonald.
