Mathematics Olympiad – SACS outstanding achievements

Mathematics Olympiad. Congratulations to Adam Rassou (Grade 9) for his exceptional performances in Mathematics competitions this year.

  • In the final round of the South African Mathematics Olympiad, Adam narrowly missed a top-ten placing but was awarded a trophy for achieving the highest score in the junior category from a Quintile 5 school in South Africa.
  • He also excelled in the final round of the WITS Mathematics Competition, securing second place overall and finishing as the top-ranked participant from South Africa (the overall winner hailed from another African country).

Well done, Adam – an outstanding achievement!

We also extend congratulations to all the Grade 8 and 9 learners who represented SACS in the final round of the WITS Mathematics Competition:

  • Adam Rassou
  • Joshua Low
  • Benjamin Duk
  • Abraham Mkuzi
  • Zachariah Khanzadeh-Ghalari
  • Ethan Robinson
  • Syed Wasi Jafferi

Through their collective efforts, SACS achieved a sixth-place ranking in this division, a commendable accomplishment that reflects both talent and teamwork.
