SACS rowing milestone Cape Town – Congratulations to Christian Friedericksen (Grade 11). Christian has achieved the remarkable honor of being awarded South African colors for rowing on 18 July.
Christian’s selection followed an outstanding season. It was highlighted by recording the fastest 2 km ergometer time in South Africa. He finished fifth in the single scull at the South African Schools Rowing Championships. Furthermore, he helped SACS secure the prestigious Boys’ Championship Four in a new course record.
After a demanding five-week selection process, Christian was named to the South African Junior Rowing Team. He will compete in the double scull with Bradley Taylor (KES) at the World Rowing U19 Championships. In doing so, he becomes the first SACS rower to earn South African colours as a U17 athlete.
SACS extends its heartfelt congratulations to Christian on this exceptional achievement and wishes him every success as he represents both South Africa and SACS on the world stage.
