Rowing South Africa Colours for DSG’s Mila Wienand

The Diocesan School for Girls, Makhanda, proudly celebrates Mila Wienand on being awarded her Rowing South Africa Colours on Saturday, 18 July 2026.

Mila has also been selected to represent South Africa at the prestigious World Rowing Under 19 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, this August. Competing alongside her doubles partner, Ntsako Shipalana, she will face the world’s finest junior rowers in pursuit of excellence.

To don the green and gold is a rare honour. Mila embodies the pride and responsibility that come with it. Her achievement not only highlights her athletic talent. It also reflects the character she has cultivated. She also leads with humility and shares her passion generously. Furthermore, she inspires younger DSG rowers to take their first strokes on the water. Her quiet encouragement and unwavering dedication have left a lasting mark on her peers and the rowing community.

We extend our best wishes to Mila, Ntsako, and their coach, Lebohang Mashigo, as they complete their final preparations for the regatta. May they represent South Africa, their schools, and the rowing fraternity with distinction.

The DSG community will be cheering you on every stroke of the way!
