PEP has successfully concluded the 2026 PEP mini Netball coaching sessions. It marks the final provincial stops in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape. This milestone reinforces PEP’s unwavering commitment to strengthening grassroots netball development across South Africa.

In the Eastern Cape, the programme reached Transkei Primary School in Mthatha, where 61 coaches participated. The journey then continued to the Western Cape. It culminated at Laerskool Volschenk in Riversdale, with 124 coaches from 51 schools taking part.

These sessions form part of PEP mini Netball’s nationwide investment in grassroots coaching. It equips coaches across all nine provinces with the knowledge, practical skills, and tools needed to nurture the next generation of netball players.

Since its inception, the programme has focused on building a stronger foundation for girls’ netball. It does this by investing not only in young athletes but also in the coaches who play a pivotal role in their growth. The 2026 sessions provided practical guidance to help coaches create fun, inclusive, and development‑focused environments for young players.

The sessions were facilitated by PEP mini Netball Ambassador Dumisani Chauke, alongside Dr Elsje Jordaan and Minette, whose expertise helped coaches better understand how to introduce and develop fundamental netball skills at grassroots level.

With the final provincial stops now completed, PEP mini Netball continues to demonstrate the importance of investing in the people who shape the sport’s future, ensuring coaches across communities have the support and tools they need to nurture South Africa’s next generation of netball talent.
