UPDATE – The police in Kimberley have confirmed that 32-year-old Amanda Ward, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday, 3 October, has been found unharmed.

She was reunited with her family on Tuesday, 7 October, said Colonel Cherelle Ehlers, police spokesperson.

The police expressed appreciation to the community for assistance regarding her safe return.

Police need assistance in locating kidnapped Kimberley woman (32)

Police in Kimberley are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 32-year-old Amanda Ward, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday, 3 October.

Preliminary information indicates that Ward and her boyfriend were at a residence in Beaconsfield, Kimberley, at approximately 23:00 on Friday when they were reportedly attacked by three knife-wielding men, according to Sergeant Merapelo Pilane, police spokesperson, on Tuesday, 7 October.

It is alleged that the suspects covered the boyfriend with a blanket, instructed the couple not to scream and demanded their belongings. Moments later, he heard the suspects ordering her to accompany them as they fled the scene.

That was the last time she was seen.

The boyfriend was reportedly stabbed in the incident and subsequently reported it to police. A case of attempted murder and kidnapping is being investigated.
