KARIEGA – A 17-year-old is among three young men whose bodies were discovered in KwaNobuhle on Monday morning, with police investigating the deaths as a triple murder.
According to police, the grim discovery was made opposite Thuthula Street in Peace Village at about 09:35 after officers were called to the scene.
All three victims had sustained gunshot wounds. Family members later identified them as Alwaba Toba, 17, Ayabonga Jantjie, 20, and Bonginkosi Matunbu, 22.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Nobuntu Gantana said a murder case, with three counts, has been opened at KwaNobuhle police station and is being investigated by the SAPS Serious and Violent Crime Investigation (SVCI) Unit.
The motive for the killings has not yet been established and no arrests have been made.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist with the investigation to come forward.
