Fashion meets purpose on 14 August at 18:00, when the Voice of Courage Fashion Show transforms Boardwalk International Convention Centre in Summerstrand, Gqeberha.

A platform for empowerment, with all proceeds supporting Yokhuselo Haven and the Community Chest of the Eastern Cape.

Organised in partnership with Boardwalk Casino & Camelot Spa, the event brings together local designers, live music and community spirit in an evening that runs for approximately two hours.

The runway line-up

Six designers will showcase their latest collections on the runway in collaboration with Premiere Models through their “Moms on the Runway” platform: Carlos Fritz Creations, Anton Randall Couture, House of Ozzie, Braemore Design, Ndimbi Reclaimed, and Jasi Studio.

Each brings their own distinct flair to the evening, with no fixed segments, allowing every collection to speak for itself.

Lucia Mtshake-Ntshona will serve as master of ceremonies, with live musical performances by Robin Pieters.

A highlight of the evening will be the official handover of funds to the two beneficiary organisations.

Driving meaningful change

Yokhuselo Haven, established in 1988, is Nelson Mandela Bay’s first shelter for women and children affected by domestic abuse.

The organisation said the support from the fashion show over the past two years has been invaluable.

“The funds raised have helped cover our monthly operational costs, ensuring that we can continue providing a safe haven for victims and their children.

The support has also enabled us to provide three meals a day, assist clients in replacing identity documents and birth certificates that may have been destroyed by perpetrators, and maintain our garden and children’s play area,” the organisation said.

The Community Chest of the Eastern Cape, founded in 1952 and the oldest organisation of its kind in South Africa, distributes grants to social welfare organisations across the province, covering education, healthcare, skills development and relief programmes.

“We value opportunities to collaborate with credible organisations that are committed to making a real impact in our communities where support is needed most. The funds raised will go a long way in helping us support those most in need,” the Community Chest said.
