The William Humphreys Art Gallery (WHAG) in Kimberley celebrates Heritage Month by hosting an art competition.
Heritage Month symbolises “Unity in diversity” – celebrating the country’s rich cultural traditions, languages and histories.
Participants in the art competition are invited to create an A4 design that reflects their personal interpretation of South African heritage for a matchbox. The competition is open to the following categories:
- category 1: age 6 to 9 years;
- category 2: age 10 to 13;
- category 3: age 14 to 18; and
- category 4: age 19 years and older.
Any of the following media can be used: pen, coloured pencil, marker, watercolour or paint.
The size of the final design must be A4, landscape or portrait layout. Include the lettering “Unity in Diversity – Heritage Day – September 2026” in your design.
A prize will be awarded to the winner of each category.
- Download the entry form on whag.co.za, under the “News” tab, and make sure your entry reaches the gallery by 1 October.
- Winners for each category will be announced via the Facebook page by 16 October.
