gun run
This year’s annual Gun Run in Kimberley saw teams of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), as well as community teams from Galeshewe, the SAPS and Correctional Services, each pulling and pushing a 23mm anti-aircraft gun through the city streets on 10 December, manoeuvring the heavy gun for approximately 7,2km. Beyond resilience and effort, camaraderie and unit pride were also enhanced. This year’s winners were the team of the 104 Battery of 10 Anti-Aircraft Regiment, followed by the Galeshewe Community, with 3 South African Infantry (SAI) Battalion in third place. The event was presented by the South African Air Defence Artillery Formation.
