Recent construction activity at the TotalEnergies service station in the Somerset Mall precinct has sparked curiosity among locals, leaving many wondering about the future of the well-known establishment.
As a key part of the community, the service station has long been a convenient stop for fuel and essentials, and the ongoing developments have raised questions about what changes may be on the horizon.

Sibu Duma, brand and communications manager for TotalEnergies, confirmed that the station on the corner of Broadway Boulevard (R44) and Gutsche Road is temporarily closed. “The site is currently undergoing a major construction upgrade. This extensive modernisation project is being undertaken specifically for the benefit of our customers, ensuring we provide an enhanced service experience upon completion.
The station will officially reopen to the public once all upgrade works are successfully finalised. We appreciate the community’s patience and look forward to welcoming our customers back to an improved facility soon.”
