Somerset West: Estian Calitz, professor emeritus in Economics and Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University, will deliver a presentation titled “Fiscal and Economic Policy Options for South Africa” at the next SOUTH AFRICA TODAY meeting at Somerset West United church from 14:00 to 15:30. Calitz served as director-general of finance of the South African government from 1993 to 1996. His talk will explore why South Africa’s competitive ranking dropped from 39th in 2002 to 64th (worst) among 64 countries in 2025, while China climbed from position 31 to 16 over the same period. Parking is available at the rear of the church and at the Bright Street entrance. Members must wear their membership cards and contribute R10. Non-members pay R20. Basson sal uitwei oor die aktiwiteite van NAFOS en inligting verskaf oor sy toere, asook fokus op die gevare van teitiese evolusie en hoe die sekulêre makro-evolusie-teorie gebruik word om die jeug hul geloof te laat “verloor”.
