Somerset West: The REACH FOR RECOVERY breast-cancer support group invites residents of the Helderberg and Stellenbosch to a free talk by the breast and endocrine surgeon Dr Liana Roodt on the latest developments in breast surgery. The talk will be held in the Learning and Development Room at Mediclinic Vergelegen at 09:30 for 10:00. Anyone with an interest in breast health is welcome. Refreshments will be served. Somerset West: What do you get when you combine five courses of Durban-inspired curry with one of South Africa’s most entertaining comedians? An evening that promises to be considerably spicier than your average night out. VERGELEGEN turns up the heat this weekend, welcoming Durban comedian Mo Vawda for curry, comedy and conviviality. Vawda is a multi-talented comedian, actor, filmmaker, scriptwriter, presenter and academic at UKZN with a PhD in statistics. For his visit to Firehorse, however, his brief is simple: make people laugh, while acclaimed chef Michelle Barry and her team ensure no appetite is disappointed. Both evenings run from 18:30 to 21:30 at the Firehorse temporary restaurant on the Somerset West estate.
