Vissersbetoging:
– Christa Visser
Gee die vissermanne hul visvangregte. Julle het ons hier kom kry. – Michelle Jansen
We know that these messages will find their way to the minister. Minister George, our fishers and fishing communities have now demonstrated to you and your department that this is not an isolated occurrence. Your press release has placed [you] in a position that will make it difficult for you to respond positively to the fisherfolk who are calling on you to engage. Let that not be a reason for failure to engage. Our doors remain open and we shall pursue alternative means until we engage. It is not for us to remind government of their obligations to their constituents but rather to take the appropriate actions to address these challenges. Why would you not want to engage? What would you lose by engaging with people your department is responsible for? – Pedro Garcia
I hope this serves as a wake-up call to the Minister who cares more about infrastructure than the people. He is most certainly missing the triple bottomline for sustainable development by ignoring the people. – Kevin Maart
Elderly waiting in cold at Sassa offices:
– Pax Aquila
