Police in the Lejweleputswa District are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 14-year-old Sylvia Lerato Rakaki, who has been reported missing from her home in Extension 18.
Sylvia was last seen by her mother at about 23:00 on Friday, 21 August. She told her mother that she had an upset stomach before going outside to use the toilet in the yard. When an hour had passed and Sylvia had not returned, her mother went outside to check on her, but she could not be found. After initial efforts to locate her proved unsuccessful, Sylvia’s mother reported her missing at Bronville SAPS at about 11:30 on Monday, 24 August.
Police have since launched a search operation with Sylvia’s family and members of the local community. Despite their efforts, she had not been located at the time of publication. At the time of her disappearance, Sylvia was wearing green sweatpants and a white T-shirt.
