WELKOM – The South African Police Service (SAPS) has initiated an inquest docket following the discovery of an unidentified man’s body beneath a bridge near Bronville.
On Wednesday, 12 August, at approximately 11:00, police officers were dispatched to the bridge located on Jan Hofmeyer Road. Upon their arrival, passers-by, who had initially discovered the body, directed officers to the deceased.
Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased is a Black male estimated to be in his mid-50s. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a black coat and wrapped in blankets. The individual’s identity remains unknown at this stage.
Authorities are urgently appealing to members of the public for any information that may assist in identifying the deceased or locating his next of kin.
