GQEBREHA – As part of preparations for the much-anticipated deployment of the SANDF to identified hotspots in the Eastern Cape, SAPS officials and SANDF members will be receiving their marching orders from the Provincial Commissioner of the Eastern Cape, Lieutenant General Vuyisile Ncata on 2 April.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Nobuntu Gantana, this exercise is aimed at briefing the SAPS and SANDF members before they commence their deployment in Gqeberha.
“The SANDF will be deployed in the Nelson Mandela Bay and the Sarah Baartman Districts and will begin their operations from 3 April 2026 until 31 March 2027,” said Gantana.
She said that the parade will take place at the 10111 Centre, 11 Searle Road, Schauderville, Gqeberha, on 2 April and will begin at 09:00.
