The St Charles College First XI enjoyed an excellent week of cricket. They delivered two impressive victories to secure the top spot in their pool and set the stage for a thrilling finals week.

With first place at stake, Westville posted 139/8, but St Charles responded with a disciplined bowling effort. Kaiyuran Naidoo led the attack with outstanding figures of 1/16 in four overs, applying relentless pressure. With the bat, captain Thandolwethu Zama struck a commanding 56 off 40 balls, supported by Connor Simpson (39 off 31). The Blue & Gold held their nerve, clinching a dramatic four‑wicket win off the final ball, sealing the top spot in the pool.

Dominant Display vs Glenwood High

On The Oval, Glenwood elected to bat but were undone by St Charles’ opening bowlers. Jayden Saville produced a superb spell of 5/22, his second five‑wicket haul of the season, while Ryan Clarke added 4/18. Dismissed for just 98, Glenwood had no answer to the Saints’ attack. With the bat, Christiaan Prinsloo (37)* anchored the chase, supported by Owen Widdows (36) and captain Zama (23)*, guiding St Charles to a convincing nine‑wicket victory.

Confidence Ahead of Finals

Head Coach Mr Divan van Wyk praised the team’s composure and quality, noting that confidence is high as the Saints prepare for the finals. The First XI’s resilience, skill, and momentum mark them as a side to watch in the coming week.
