Rondebosch Boys’ High Triumphs Again at UCT Maths Competition


For the fifth consecutive year—and the 11th time in the past 12 years—Rondebosch Boys’ High School has been crowned the best-performing school in the University of Cape Town Mathematics Competition. This marks the 20th occasion that the prestigious trophy has been awarded to Rondebosch Boys’ High School’s mathematicians, underscoring a legacy of excellence.

Gold awards were presented to individual participants who finished in the Top 10 and to pairs who placed in the Top 3 of their respective grades. Congratulations to the following boys on their outstanding achievements:

  • Grade 8: Lian Rall (4th individual), Heng-Yao Weng (3rd individual)
  • Grade 9: Max Robertson & Joshua Daubenton (2nd pairs), Ethan Groenewald (7th individual), Liam de Wet (5th individual), Cameron Broster (2nd individual)
  • Grade 10: Juntian Yang (9th individual), Fynn Williams (7th individual)
  • Grade 11: Neo Goodall (4th individual)

Overall Results (out of 5400 participants):

  • 5th: SACS (3103)
  • 4th: Westerford (3195)
  • 3rd: Somerset College (3208)
  • 2nd: Bishops (3484)
  • 1st: Rondebosch (3519)
