Northwood School proudly celebrates the exceptional achievement of Riley Hemphill, who has officially qualified for the 2026 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup.

This milestone follows Riley’s outstanding performance at the South African Short Course Grand Prix in Cape Town, where he delivered a superb 2:15.98 in the 200m Breaststroke to secure qualification. He also impressed with a strong 1:03.87 in the 100m Breaststroke, underscoring his consistency across events.

Most notably, Riley’s 200m Breaststroke time now stands as the fastest on the African continent by an 18‑and‑under swimmer, a remarkable benchmark that highlights his rising stature in international swimming.

Riley Hemphill will represent Northwood and South Africa in the first two legs of the World Cup series this October, carrying with him the pride of his family, school, and community.

The world stage now awaits Riley Hemphill. His qualification marks not only a personal triumph but also a proud moment for Northwood School and the South African swimming community.
