Durban – Northwood School proudly recognised the exceptional achievements of its Squires and Knights at the annual Sports, Culture and Service Awards Evening. The school celebrated five young men whose commitment, talent, character and service have distinguished them throughout their time at the College.

Sportsman of the Year — Jamie Wimble

A remarkable sportsman and leader. Jamie has earned provincial selection in both sports, represented South Africa, captained both codes, and served as Head Prefect. His humility, discipline and consistency have made him an outstanding representative of Northwood.

Knights Trophy — Anesu Kuzonyei

Anesu’s rugby journey reflects resilience. After seasons disrupted by injury, he fought back to earn selection for the SA Schools Rugby Team. He also secured a professional contract with the Stormers (2027) — a reward for perseverance and belief.

Outstanding External Extramural Achievement — Christian Johnson

At just 15, Christian was selected for the South African U20 Fencing Team to compete at the Junior African Championships in Senegal. His 18th‑place finish in the U20 Sabre was also the best South African result in over a decade.

Culture of Northwood Award — Obed Ephraim

An exceptionally talented musician, Obed has contributed significantly to Northwood’s cultural programme. From leading the Marimba Band to back‑to‑back National Championship titles to achieving a High Distinction in Grade 8 Trinity drums, his dedication and leadership have indeed been remarkable.

Service to Northwood Award — Keegan Doyle

For five years, Keegan has served with distinction through the Northwood Press Club, devoting countless hours to capturing and sharing the Northwood story. His professionalism, reliability and work ethic also make him a truly deserving recipient of this award.

A Legacy of Pride

Northwood extends heartfelt congratulations to Jamie, Anesu, Christian, Obed and Keegan. Their achievements represent the very best of the College, and the school could not be prouder of their contributions.
