A massive congratulations to Northwood School, crowned as Senior Marimba Competition Band on lifting the trophy at the South African National Schools Marimba Competition!
The school’s Knights delivered a spectacular performance, securing 1st place in the Boys High School category (with hosts Michaelhouse in 2nd) and claiming the overall win of the competition. This marks a consecutive year of triumph, as the Knights proudly reclaimed the trophy. Michaelhouse placed 2nd overall, with St John’s DSG taking 3rd.
Northwood’s Junior Marimba Band followed closely in their footsteps, earning 1st place in the High School Development Band category – an incredible achievement for our rising young musicians.
Special recognition goes to Obed Ephraim, who was honoured as Best Drummer of all schools – a testament to his outstanding talent and dedication.
Northwood School celebrates these victories with immense pride. Our marimba musicians have once again shown that passion, teamwork, and excellence define the Knights’ spirit.
