Michaelhouse, KwaZulu‑Natal, proudly celebrates Thandanani Zuma on his selection to the South Africa U18A Hockey Team.
Following an outstanding performance at the recent U18 National Hockey Tournament, Thandanani has earned his place among the very best in the country.
Thandanani Zuma’s hockey career
At the same time, Thandanani enjoyed an outstanding debut season with the Michaelhouse 1st hockey team in 2024. He quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic attacking players in the province. Furthermore, his ability to create “go forward” opportunities consistently challenged opposition defenses. His maturity on and off the field belied his youth.
After the school season, Thandanani represented the KZN Inland U16A team at the U16 Boys Nationals in Bloemfontein. Playing alongside Michaelhouse teammates Ben Heuer and Charles Purdon, he finished tied as the 4th highest goal scorer with 7 goals, helping his province secure 3rd place. His performance earned him selection to the SA U16A team.
Above all, Thandanani is known for his humility and tireless work ethic. He consistently strives to perform at his best, and his recognition as one of the top hockey players in his age group in South Africa is richly deserved.
