Maritzburg College was honoured to welcome the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Mr. Francois Rodgers. He met with members of the Maritzburg College Debating Society. He encouraged the boys to embrace debating as a platform for sharpening critical thinking, building confidence, and developing leadership skills.

The visit followed the outstanding achievement of Maritzburg College debating learner, K. Mkhwane, who secured third place overall at the prestigious World Schools Debating Championship in Slovenia.

MEC Rodgers reaffirmed his commitment to supporting young talent, emphasizing that investing in the younger generation is an investment in South Africa’s future.

At Maritzburg College, they remain dedicated to nurturing young men who are prepared to think critically, communicate effectively, and lead with confidence.
