On Thursday, 13 August, ten College boys proudly represented the school at the PMB Central Circuit Readers’ Cup 2026, hosted by the DOE: ELITS Directorate at Linpark High School. The event brought together schools from across the region in a celebration of literature and performance.
Our boys participated in three categories:
- 2nd Form – Villains in Literature: Simon Clark, Lethokuhle Nxele, Jake Pentolfe, Sher Singh, and Michael Williams.
- 3rd Form – Acting Out a Classic with a South African Twist: Reid Swanepoel, Yadarshan Moodley, Pranav Rajkumar, and Zachary Thomson, who reimagined a scene from Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist.
- 4th Form – Delivering a Brief Lecture on Social Media: Ntando Luvuno.
All participants performed with enthusiasm and skill, thoroughly enjoying the experience. The 3rd Form group impressed the judges with their creative adaptation and secured 1st place in their category. Likewise, Ntando Luvuno delivered an outstanding lecture and was awarded 1st place in his division.
Maritzburg College commends all its boys for their dedication and talent – they truly made Maritzburg College proud.
