Knysna Oyster Festival. Nine‑year‑old Stulting Primary, Jeffreys Bay, learner, Libby Knezovich, has made waves with a remarkable series of paddling triumphs. That was during the recent holiday and weekend competitions.
At the prestigious Knysna Oyster Festival, Libby impressed spectators and competitors alike by securing second place in the demanding Harbour to Heads 4 km Guppy Race. Competing against athletes up to three years her senior, her performance stood out as a testament to her skill and determination.
Her momentum carried through to the Canals Winter Challenge in St Francis. There she claimed first place in the U10 Guppie 2 km Race. Not content with a single victory, Libby then partnered with a 13‑year‑old teammate to tackle the adult 10 km event. Together, they crossed the finish line in first position in the u.18 doubles category. This is an extraordinary feat for such a young competitor.
Libby’s achievements highlight her courage, discipline and natural talent on the water. Her dedication continues to inspire her peers and community, proving that age is no barrier to excellence.
