Kingswood College proudly announced the outstanding achievements of its Matric pupils in the prestigious 2026 English Home Language Olympiad.
Among more than 5 000 entrants from 242 schools nationwide, two Kingswood learners secured places in the coveted Top 100.
- Sophie Büttner achieved an exceptional 19th place nationally, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects her dedication and talent. The Grahamstown Foundation and the South African Council for English Education (SACEE) awarded Sophie a cash prize. In addition, Rhodes University has recognised her achievement with a full tuition scholarship for her first year of study in any programme.
- Kiana‑Anae Sabadia earned an impressive 55th place nationally, further underscoring Kingswood’s tradition of academic excellence.
This success continues a proud legacy: in the past two years, four Kingswood pupils have ranked in the Top 100 of the English Olympiad.
