King Edward VII School, Johannesburg, celebrated a landmark achievement this weekend as Cian Sullivan ended play on an unbeaten 102 runs, earning the coveted Purple Cap — the first major milestone for the school at this year’s tournament hosted by St David’s Marist Inanda.
Batting alongside him, Kyle Hennene impressed with a composed 76 not out, ensuring King Edward remains well‑placed with 11 overs still to bat the next day against St Andrew’s School, Bloemfontein.
King Edward trails the first innings by just 11 runs, with one more innings still to play — setting up an exciting continuation of the contest.

This performance follows on from King Edward’s commanding victory in the opening two‑day match against the Lions Invitational XI, where the team triumphed by 5 wickets on Thursday and Friday.
