Galliano shines in Durban. St Andrew’s College Makhanda is very proud of Galliano, who delivered a commanding performance at the SA Open Karate in Durban this past weekend. He dominated the Junior Division, winning gold and securing his place as the top selection for the UFAK Continental Championships in Algeria this September. This achievement also moves him one step closer to qualification for the Youth Olympics.
Competing Beyond His Division
Remarkably, Galliano was the only junior to step into the Senior Division. He fought with determination, narrowly losing his semi-final 3–2, and proudly claimed a bronze medal against seasoned competitors.
Honoured with Protea Colours
Adding to his weekend of triumphs, Galliano was officially awarded his Protea colours for 2025/2026 at the prestigious Protea Awards dinner on Friday night.
