Camps Bay Surfer Ben Esterhuyse Triumphs in Durban

Camps Bay High School proudly congratulates Ben Esterhuyse (Gr 10) on his outstanding double victory at the O’Neill SMTH Shapes Rookie Rippers in Durban. He claimed first place in both the U16 and U18 Boys’ divisions.

Winning his own age group was already a remarkable achievement. Yet at just 15, Ben also outperformed surfers up to two years older. He also secured the U18 title in a powerful display of skill, confidence, and composure against more experienced opposition.

Adding to this success, Ben has once again been selected to represent South Africa in the U16 division at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in El Salvador later this year. This marks his second consecutive national selection. He will compete against the world’s best young surfers on the international stage.

Camps Bay High School is immensely proud of Ben Esterhuyse’s achievements and wishes him every success as he continues to inspire with his talent, determination, and sportsmanship.
