PAARL – A police constable (26) will appear before the Paarl Magistrate’s Court on Monday (14 September 2026), after he was arrested in Paarl alongside his father (49) for possession of drugs.
According to Const Ndakhe Gwala, a provincial police spokesperson, the two suspects were on their way to Worcester and were intercepted by Paarl police who had received intelligence about suspected drug activity.
The exact time of the arrest was not supplied, but it is presumed to have been last night or in the early hours of this morning (11 September).
Gwala said police searched the vehicle and a narcotics detection dog detected drugs in a sealed packet of chips. Inside were 30 grams of crystal meth and 15 grams of cocaine. Both suspects were arrested for possession of drugs.
Western Cape SAPS management welcomed the arrest and assured the public of its commitment to rooting out criminality within the organisation.
