A 43-year-old woman was arrested in Wellington on Thursday (16 April) after police seized drugs during a coordinated operation in Hoop Street.
According to Western Cape police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala various South African Police Service units in the Western Cape executed a search warrant at a residence at approximately 11:45.
“As members entered the premises they observed an adult female throwing a plastic bag onto the roof of a Wendy house before attempting to flee,” he said.
Police members stopped the suspect and retrieved the bag filled with drugs from the roof. Inside, officers found 114 Mandrax tablets, half a Mandrax tablet and 10 sachets of tik.
The suspect was arrested on the scene for possession.
She was expected to appear in the Paarl Magistrate’s Court once formally charged.
