Fight not yet over for Royal Blues in ZAFA Premier League
DESPITE trailing by one league point to the new Zakhele Football Association (ZAFA) Premier League log leaders, Royal Blues have not given up the fight to contest for the honours this season.
Blues had a bye over the weekend. Eleven Angels are currently on top of the ZAFA Premier League with 30 league points. They defeated Golden Brothers 1–0 at Dynamos Grounds on Saturday, and they also out-played Dynamos 3–1 at their home ground at Dynamos on Sunday.
Golden Brothers have dropped to third place with 29 league points following their 3–0 victory over Charge United FC at Dynamos Grounds on Sunday. Blues, who have collected 29 league points, are in second position on the log table but their goal difference gives them an advantage to be above Brothers on the league table. Blues have two games on hand that they still have to play.
Swartkops FC snatched a narrow 3–2 triumph over United Comrades at Eleven Angels Grounds on Saturday. Young Boys had the better of Stone Brokers in their 4–2 victory at Eleven Angels Grounds on Saturday. Island City were down on their luck in a 7–0 loss to Dynamos Eleven Angels Grounds on Saturday too.
Black Eagles played to a 1–1 draw against Young Neighbours at Dynamos Grounds on Saturday. United Comrades were twice on the receiving end following their 8–2 loss to Black Eagles at Eleven Angels Grounds on Sunday. The hearts of Stone Breakers were not broken after their side shared a 1–1 draw with Young Neighbours at Eleven Angels Grounds on Sunday.
Aspen FC suffer second loss of the season
NELSON Mandela Bay Industrial Football Association League (NMB IFAL) log leaders Aspen FC suffered their second loss since the start of the season on Sunday.
Aspen went down 3–1 to Adient PPC during their game at Dana Grounds in Kariega last Sunday. Aspen were humiliated 7–0 by Durr Africa during their one-sided game at Jubilee Fields in Kariega on Sunday. Despite the losses, Aspen FC still lead the teams on the NMB IFAL log table.
Eberspacher thwarted Forvia Uitenhage 3–1 at Jubilee Field on Sunday. Fomoco Ford were defeated 3–0 by Continental at Jubilee Field on Sunday as well. After they failed to turn up for their game against Continental scheduled for Jubilee Field last Sunday, Willard Auto X succumbed 6–0 to Heineken Distell at Jubilee Field on Sunday.
Hi-Tech Auto secured soft points after Benteler failed to show up for their game at Shatterprufe Grounds in Struandale on Sunday. Shatterprufe Neave collected three league points in their 2–0 victory over Coega Dairy at Shatterprufe Grounds on Sunday. Sasko registered a close 7–6 victory on Borbet at Shatterprufe Grounds on Sunday.
Tenneco kept their hopes of winning the prestigious league trophy alive when they edged out Dairy Group 3–1 at Dana Grounds in Kariega on Sunday. Adient PPC earned a narrow 4–3 triumph over BKB at Dana Grounds.

The games that were scheduled to take place at Motherwell NU 9 Grounds were moved to Motherwell NU 12 Grounds. Algoa Bus Company went down 5–2 to Brothers of Peace Masters at Motherwell NU 12 Grounds. Sparks lost 2–0 to AmaUnits at Motherwell NU 12 Grounds. Eleven Attackers claimed a 2–1 win over Veeplaas Masters.
Soweto United shared a 1–1 draw when they faced Young Pirates at Khwezi Lomso Comprehensive High School in Zwide. Bay Masters were held to a 2–2 draw by their neighbours, Winners Masters at, Khwezi Lomso Comprehensive High School in Zwide. Port Elizabeth Eleven Masters drew 1–1 with Zwide Masters at Khwezi Lomso Comprehensive High School.
Walmer Masters played to a 1–1 draw against Motherwell All Stars at Walmer Community Grounds. Chatty Masters held Uitenhage Masters to a goalless draw at Chatty Grounds. Barcelona Masters drew 1–1 with Joe Slovo at Kuyga Grounds in Greenbushes.
Chathaza All Stars were held to a 2–2 draw by Port Elizabeth All Stars at Young Romans in Kwazakhele. Young Bucks snatched a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Walmer Masters at Veeplaas Turf. Despite their 2–0 loss, Dana Spicer played their hearts out against their neighbours, VW Masters, at Dana Grounds.

FANS were treated to football of a high standard during the Northern Areas Football Association (NAFA) League on Saturday and Sunday.
NAFA Premier League Stream A on Saturday: Helenvale United managed to overcome Glenville Celtic 2–0 in Helenvale. Blackpool registered a well-deserved 2–0 on Rangers at Marock Road Field 1 while Park United salvaged a narrow 3–2 victory over Hotspurs at Arcadia Grounds. The gutsy West Lake beat Windvogel All Stars 3–0 at Windvogel Grounds.
NAFA Premier League Stream B on Sunday: Bloem Stars were held to a 1–1 draw by Saints at Finnis Street Field 1. Apex FC drubbed Fairview Rovers 4–1 at Gelvan Turf. Stardrit FC secured a difficult 2–1 win over Shamrocks at Marock Road Field 2. Fairdene went down 2–0 to Windvogel All Stars at Finnis Street Field 2.
