RECIPE | Pete Moore’s potato cheese pie

Pete Moore’s potato cheese pie

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled
  • 100 ml onion, finely chopped
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped 
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Black pepper

Preparation

Step 1: Preheat to 180 °C. Grease a 24 cm dish.

Step 2: Grate the potatoes coarsely. Rinse and pat dry.

Step 3: Mix the potato with the onion and parsley.

Step 4: Season with the salt and pepper.

Step 5: Add beaten egg to the milk and mix into potato mixture.

Step 6: Add the paprika and mustard.

Step 7: Place this mixture into the greased pie dish.

Step 8: Sprinkle with grated cheese.

Step 9: Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until top is
golden brown and filling has set.
