Detectives at SAPS Mount Road  is urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin and the identity of a man whose remains were found on the N2 freeway near Cotswold on 26 March 2021.

Col. Priscilla Naidu, polices spokesperson, said according to police information, on the mentioned date at about 20:00 a motorist was driving from Kabega Park towards Cotswold when he noticed the remains of a human being on the freeway. He then contacted the police.  

“Police suspect that the person was a victim of a hit and run. The victim is unidentified and is a white adult male with short brown/grey hair. He was wearing a cream and black jacket; navy blue, yellow and purple polar fleece jersey; yellow socks; navy pants; blue Skechers takkies; blue and white check shirt and a grey T-shirt. A black string with a nail clipper was found around his neck,” Naidu said.

She added that he had distinguished tattoos. “On his left upper arm there is a round circle with an image of a man with a gun and an inscription around it, as well as a bird and an unidentifiable image. On the right upper arm is a unidentifiable image and on the right foot is an inscription.” 

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
