Nelson Mandela Bay matriculants can now enter the prestigious Miss & Mr Matric Nelson Mandela Bay competition, hosted by PE Express and UD Express.

This charitable initiative supports Community Chest Eastern Cape, with all proceeds directed towards its vital work in Eastern Cape communities.

The competition will culminate in a glamorous fashion show finale at Walmer Park Shopping Centre in Gqeberha on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at 13:00 where entrants will showcase their matric dance outfits.

Prizes

The winners’ photographs will be featured on the front pages of PE Express and UD Express.

• Winner: R2 000 Walmer Park gift card each.
• 1st Runner-up, boy and girl: R1,500 Walmer Park gift card each.
• 2nd Runner-up, boy and girl: R1,000 Walmer Park gift card each.
• 4th and 5th place, boy and girl: R500 gift card each.

Rules and entry details

• An entry fee of R60 is payable directly to Community Chest (banking details below).
• Entrants must submit their matric dance photograph and a completed entry form, including proof of payment.
• Submit high-resolution photographs in which the full outfit, including dress or suit, hair, make-up and accessories, is clearly visible. Photo collages (maximum three photos) are permitted.
• Only one entry per matriculant is allowed, featuring a solo photograph or collage. Photos with partners, group photos and selfies will not be accepted.
• Only matriculants from Nelson Mandela Bay (Gqeberha, Kariega Despatch and Kirkwood) schools are eligible to enter.
• Photographs posted on our Facebook timelines or sent via Messenger will be disqualified. Entries must be submitted via email only. Choose your image wisely, as replacements will not be accepted after submission.
• All qualifying entries will be posted in an album on the PE Express and UD Express Facebook pages. By entering the competition, you grant EP Media permission to use these images on its social media platforms.
• Facebook reactions do not influence the outcome of the competition. Judging is conducted by an independent panel, whose decision is final.
• Please allow 2-3 business days for photos to be uploaded to the Facebook pages
