Man stabbed during home invasion in Framesby

A case of house robbery is under investigation at SAPS Kabega Park after a robbery in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 24, in Framesby.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 01:20, the complainant, husband and daughter were sleeping in the house in Atlanta Crescent, Framesby.

She said the complainant woke up when she heard footsteps inside the house and woke her husband. As he got out of bed, he was attacked by one suspect armed with a knife and was stabbed in the left forearm.

“The lights were switched on and the complainant saw three suspects inside the house, two of them armed with knives. The suspects tied the family up and demanded money and firearms. The suspects ransacked the house and fled with cellphones, an iPad, digital camera, jewellery, a laptop and a Samsung TV,” said Janse Van Rensburg.

“It is further alleged that the daughter managed to flee to the neighbours to seek help. A panic button was activated, but on arrival of a security officer the suspects had already fled from the scene. During the search of the property the security officer recovered the Samsung TV near a boundary wall of the complainant,” she added.

Janse van Rensburg said that the suspect gained access to the house by forcing a sliding door open.

“The complainant’s husband was taken to hospital for treatment and a case of house robbery was opened for further investigation.”

Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with any information relating to the house robbery, to contact SAPS Kabega Park on 082 442 1017 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.

“All information is strictly confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.”
