THE Groom a Girl initiative, an NPO that seeks to help and empower girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, will be hosting a fundraising event in November.
In order to ensure the continuing success of the initiative, the members have decided to host a number of events to help cover the costs.
The Groom a Girl initiative was officially launched two years ago and seeks to empower young women who are less fortunate.
One of the fundraising events is the Witness Your Fitness with a Hawaiian Twist. It will take place at Dave’s Gym in Gelvandale on November 10.
The outdoor fitness morning is open to the community. There will be four different exercise routines and each routine is about 25 minutes long.
In addition to raising funds for the initiative, the event is also aimed at raising awareness for Dave’s Gym, which opened late last year.
Witness Your Fitness with a Hawaiian Twist will feature DJ services, giveaways, refreshments and more.
Dave’s Gym is located on the corner of Bell Road and Springbok Street in Gelvandale.
Entry to the event is R50. The theme is Hawaiian.
