SAPS Kabega Park detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of an unknown man whose body was found on the beach a kilometre from the Van Staden’s resort earlier today.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that at about 08:30, a couple was walking on the beach about a kilometre from the Van Staden’s resort towards the Gamtoos side when they noticed a body on the sand.
“The deceased is a black man between 40-50 years. Police know him as a vagrant who had no fixed abode.
It is suspected that he may have fallen ill and died; he did not drown,” said Naidu.
An inquest is opened for investigation.
