Female learners to receive sanitary towels

Female learners from Altona Primary School will receive sanitary towel packs each month for the 2022 academic year to ensure that they are not absent during their menstrual cycle due to a lack of resources. This is The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay campus yearlong community engagement initiative driven by VC Cares, the campus’ student volunteer body. ‘Our students want to give back to the community as they too were learners at a primary school once and know the importance of not missing school,’ said Jaci Howell, student wellness manager The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay.
