Detectives at SAPS Mount Road are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin and the identity of a man after a pedestrian was hit on the N2 near John Tallant off-ramp on Saturday, 22 May.

According to police information, on the mentioned date at about 07:50 the driver of a white Chevrolet LDV was traveling towards Bluewater Bay. At the on-ramp of John Tallant an unknown man dressed in an orange overall with jeans crossed the freeway and was hit by die LDV, said Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, police spokesperson.

“The driver stopped and the man that he had struck was lying in the bushes in the middle of the freeway.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.”

Anyone who can assist in identifying the deceased person or know of any person that may be missing since yesterday morning (22 May), is asked to contact SAPS Mount Road Crime office on 041 394 6243 or Crime Stop 08600 1011 or their nearest police station.
