The Bargain Box:

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League charity shop is urgently in need of donations. Good clothing, bric-a-brac, household goods, linen, books and costume jewellery would be greatly appreciated. They request that electrical goods be in working order. All proceeds go towards caring for animals in the northern areas. Books on the Lawn and on the Shelf:


The Port Elizabeth Children’s Feeding Trust bookshop will have a R5 book sale on the lawns in front of the Walmer Town Hall in Main Road, Walmer, on Saturday, December 4, from 09:00 to 12:00. At the same time all books in the shop itself will also be on sale at R5 each, with superb bargains on offer. A wide variety of fiction and non-fiction will be available. St Peter’s Congregational Church, 42 Walter Road, Charlo, will have their monthly mini bazaar on Saturday, December 4, from 08:00. The Aloe White Ensign Shellhole Moths Boot Sale will take place on the corner of Church Road and 8th Avenue, Walmer, on Saturday, December 4, from 08:00 to 12:00. The cost is R50 per stall holder. Craft, Hobbies & Toy Fair:

The fair will take place at Walmer Town Hall, Main Road, on December 4, from 08:30 to 13:00. There will be loads of craft stalls, dolls, bears, beautifully painted pictures and a collectible model car display. Highlights Photography will join as well. Visit their store and have your picture taken to be entered into their lucky draw. Tea, coffee and lovely goodies to eat await, as well as some delicious pies, jams, pickles and sauces. Entry is R5 per person. All proceeds will go to charity, which this year is Save-a-Pet.



Christmas Expo:

The seventh annual Port Elizabeth Christmas Expo will take place at The Italian Club in Harold Road, Charlo, on Sunday, December 5, from 09:00 to 14:00. There will be lots of arts and crafts and local goods, from Christmas decor and gifts to clothing, food stalls, fresh produce, lifestyle products, home decor and jewellery. There will also be a kiddies’ area, jumping castle and live music! Entry to the public is free. Bring your own shopping bag. COVID regulations apply. No mask, no entry.
