Detectives at SAPS KwaDwesi are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next-of-kin of two women murdered on Saturday evening, March 19, in the Joe Slovo settlement.

It is alleged that on the mentioned date at about 19:30, the two women were found lying in an open field along a pathway. One female sustained two gunshot wounds and died on the scene while the other sustained a gunshot wound to her forehead and died the following day in hospital. 

Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that it is further alleged that both women were together when they were shot. The motive and suspects are unknown at this stage.

“The identity of both women are unknown. They are aged between 25-30 years old. One victim is rumoured to be from KwaZakhele while the other victim has a tattoo on her right arm that depicts an open book. She was also wearing a blue golf shirt and dark coloured pants,” Naidu said. 

Police are investigating two cases of murder and appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying them or tracing their next-of-kin. Any information relating to their identities or the circumstances relating to their deaths may be communicated to D/Capt.
