UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the driver of the Ford Fiesta also passed away yesterday morning, April 5 at Livingstone Hospital.
The names of both deceased are still being withheld as police are still trying to trace their next-of-kin.
A woman has died after the vehicle she was travelling in collided with a truck on Seaview Road yesterday afternoon, Monday, April 4.
The Ford Fiesta was driving in the direction of Seaview at approximately 13:45 when a truck turned right out of Heron Road into Seaview Road. The Fiesta collided with the truck, seriously injuring the driver. The passenger died at the scene.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the injured driver of the Fiesta was transported to hospital.
“The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries,” she said.
“SAPS Walmer detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide,” she added.
“The name of the deceased will only be released on the next-of-kin has been informed. The investigation is ongoing.”
