MOTHERWELL-based side Volcano Ladies were untouchable when they crushed Madibaz Football 3–1 during their Sasol League clash, played at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on a chilly Saturday afternoon.

Volcano opened their account in the 10th minute, when Yonela Mjuza unleashed a hotshot after a perfect pass from Zezethu Ntinga from the right flank.

Madibaz Football nearly registered their equalizer as Anelisa Mngcongo failed to connect the cross from Sophie Noabane into the back of the net, in the 12th minute. Ntinga penetrated the midfielders of Madibaz and she unleashed a long-range volley that beat Madibaz goalkeeper, Roshni Fleur, in the 35th minute.

There was miscommunication between the defenders of the hosts and their goalkeeper, Sinovuyo Tyulu, with Mngcongo using that opportunity to bang in the solitary goal of Madibaz in the 58th minute. Mjuza and Ntinga read each other like an open book in the centre of the park.

Ntinga laid a perfect pass to Ogcobo Rala who scored a top notch goal in the 72nd minute that gave Volcano Ladies a 3–1 lead. Fleur sustained a groin injury in the 81st minute and she was substituted by Yolokazi Mhlakaza, who made some brilliant saves.

Madibaz failed to kill the game as Ongi Mxoxozi, Mngcongo and their late substitute, Caiden Adams, had only themselves to blame as they rushed in front of the Volcano’s goalkeeper. Volcano Ladies claimed a well-deserved 3–1 home victory.
