On Saturday, August 12, at about 20:30, a woman’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds, and a man’s body was found hanging in the bathroom of a house on Boekenhout Street in Algoa Park.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that police were alerted after a concerned friend informed them that the deceased could be in danger.
She said when police arrived at the house, entry was breached by breaking the door.
“The victim was found on the floor with multiple stab wounds, and a man, was found hanging in the bathroom.
“An inquest and murder case was opened for further investigation,” said Naidu.
“Police are urging abuse victims to reach out for help as soon as possible.
“Support and professional help are available for assistance and guidance,” added Naidu.
“Communities need to play their part in also notifying the necessary authorities. Reporting any signs of abuse can help prevent further harm and ensure that appropriate action is taken.”
