SAPS Walmer are investigating a case of house robbery and attempted murder which allegedly took place on Thursday, March 21 in Broadwood.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 02:10, the complainant (68) was asleep at his house at a complex on Barney Road in Broadwood when he was awakened by an unknown person assaulting and stabbing him with an unknown weapon.
” The complainant sustained injuries to his left arm, and face,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
” When it was quiet in the house, he found his wife in the passage also with injuries to her right arm and left leg.
” Police established that entry was gained through the kitchen window,” she added.
Janse Van Rensburg further added, “Two cell phones, cash and a denim handbag were missing.
The complainant and his wife were taken to hospital for treatment.”
The investigation is ongoing.
