GQEBERHA – Police are investigating the mysterious murder of two young men who went missing on 16 April after visiting Summerstrand and later allegedly visiting a tavern in Motherwell. Both victims were found with fatal gunshot wounds.
The victims were officially identified by their parents yesterday, 20 April.
Commenting on the events leading up to the murder of the pair, police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the first male, Sandile Ngoqo (22), left his home in Abelia Crescent, Sunridge Park, in the early evening of 16 April to pick up his friend, Mazizi Ntshibilili (19), in Prestwick Street, Greenshields Park.

She said it is alleged that they were going to visit Summerstrand and they used a white Volkswagen Caddy belonging to Ngoqo.
After that they allegedly visited a tavern in Motherwell later that night.
She revealed the first body recovered belonged to Ntshibilili, who was found at about 05:30 on 17 April on Mgwalana Street, NU6, Motherwell, with gunshot wounds to his head. Later, at about 10:30, the body of Ngoqo was found next to the Swartkops River, close to Corobrik. He had a gunshot wound to his back.
She further revealed the vehicle they were using was found abandoned on Ndlanzi Street, NU8, Motherwell, on the same day, 17 April.
Murder cases were opened at SAPS Swartkops and SAPS Motherwell.
