GQEBERHA – After being kidnapped and allegedly held for ransom for 11 days, Beyoncé Cairncross has finally been reunited with her family.
The Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Ndiphiwe Mhlakuvana confirmed that the 22-year-old victim was returned in the early hours of Sunday, 22 March 2026.
“The victim was reportedly reunited with her family unharmed.”
He added that more details surrounding her release will not be revealed at this stage as the investigation continues.
PE Express previously reported that according to information circulating on social media, the woman has been identified as Beyoncé Cairncross. A widely shared poster claims she was taken outside Famhealth in Gelvandale.
The poster further alleged that she was wearing brown gym tights, a white top and black-and-white Vans trainers at the time of the incident, and claims she was taken by four armed men and one woman.
Unverified reports circulating on social media also claimed that a ransom demand of R2 million may have been made following the alleged abduction. The Hawks have not confirmed these claims.
